Your safety on VibeChat
VibeChat is built for live conversations between real people. This page explains the tools you have in every session, how moderation works, and how to stay safe and private while you chat.
Safety tools in every session
Every live session on VibeChat gives you the same controls, visible at all times:
- Next — leave a conversation instantly and find someone new.
- Block — stop a specific person from matching with you again.
- Report — flag behavior that breaks the rules; this sends context to the moderation team.
You never have to explain why you are leaving a conversation. If something feels off, end it — that is what these controls are for.
How moderation works
VibeChat uses AI-assisted monitoring around the clock, backed by a human moderation team that reviews reports. When you report someone, context goes to that team.
Accounts that break the rules, or that generate multiple reports, can be warned, suspended, or removed. No system is perfect, but reporting is the fastest way to get a problem looked at — please use it whenever something is wrong.
Every match is one-to-one
VibeChat has no public rooms and no group calls. Every match is a private session between you and one other person — there is no audience, and nothing you do is broadcast to a crowd.
Live video travels through your browser over WebRTC, the standard web technology for real-time calls, and the media stream is encrypted in transit. Access is account-based rather than fully anonymous, which makes throwaway accounts harder to mass-produce.
No live medium can stop the other person from capturing their own screen, so treat anything on camera as something that could be saved, and keep personal details private. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.
Our age policy
VibeChat is for adults 18 and over. Age confirmation is part of sign-up, and any account we believe belongs to a minor is removed.
Any content that sexualizes, endangers, or involves a minor is forbidden and is reported to the appropriate authorities. If you believe you have matched with someone underage, end the session and use Report immediately.
What is not allowed
To keep VibeChat safe for everyone, the following are not allowed and can lead to removal:
- Harassment, threats, hate, or abuse.
- Sexual content shown to anyone who has not consented to it.
- Anything that involves, sexualizes, or endangers a minor.
- Scams, solicitation, or requests for money.
- Sharing another person's private information.
- Recording or redistributing someone's video without consent.
- Illegal content or activity of any kind.
The complete rules are in our Community Guidelines.
Protect your privacy
Live video is face-to-face, but you stay in control of what you share:
- A display name is enough — you do not need to share your real name.
- Don't give out your address, phone, email, or social handles to someone you just met.
- Check what your camera shows before you go live — avoid documents, screens, or anything identifying.
- Use a neutral background, and leave any chat that pressures you for personal or financial details.
For how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
When you need help
If a conversation makes you uncomfortable, leave it with Next and use Report. Block stops that person from matching with you again.
If you are ever in immediate danger, or someone threatens your safety, contact your local emergency services or authorities directly. VibeChat's tools handle behavior inside the app — real-world emergencies need real-world help.
For the terms of using VibeChat, see the Terms of Service.

Safety — FAQ
Use the Report button in any live session — it sends context to the moderation team. You can also Block to stop that person from matching with you again.
